Expanding Ministry Across East Africa
In May 2022, I met with Dr. Nelson to see about continuing the classes in Uganda. Aaron Issler, who had started the classes, had passed away, and I was hoping to continue the classes we started in 2019. Little did I expect Dr. Nelson to challenge me to become the Regional Director for East Africa. I felt the call of God to accept, not knowing what lay in store for me.
I contacted the two pastors we worked with, Andrew Wakabi and Abraham Koche, and made plans to return to Uganda in July 2022 to meet with them. Andrew and I went to Fort Portal in the west of Uganda. We conducted a seminar with the pastors there and then did a Teacher Training Workshop (TTW) with two pastors. Roy had been Andrew’s assistant in Jinja and had gone through most of the CCI training before planting a church in his hometown.
Today, the ministry has expanded into neighboring countries, and we praise the Lord for His work in Africa. Two plus years and five trips later, we now have 11 classes in Uganda, seven (7) in Tanzania, five (5) in Rwanda, two (2) in Burundi, and one (1) in Kenya.
