Christmas away from family was very different this year. We got to communicate with our children and family back in Florida by way of the internet and video chats but it was not the same as in the past, where we would be able to watch the joy on faces as they opened gifts and we all shared memories. We did get to have a special get-together with some of the people we have met here at language school in Mexico. We had a white elephant gift exchange and made hamburgers and hotdogs. At the end of December our daughter, Bianca, celebrated her 19th birthday and got engaged to be married all on the same day. I was humbly asked by her boyfriend if he could have my blessing and after having spent time with him having a few biblical conversations before him asking me, I gave my blessing.
